Anaheim After Dark: 9 Fun Things to Do at Night This Fall
Anaheim is pretty easy to figure out during the day.
Disneyland.
Food.
Maybe a baseball game.
More food.
But then 6 p.m. rolls around and somebody asks the surprisingly difficult question:
“So... what should we do tonight?”
Luckily, Anaheim doesn't shut down when the theme parks start launching fireworks.
There are actually alot of fun things to do in Anaheim at night, whether you're visiting Disneyland, planning a date night, hanging out with friends or you're a local who just doesn't want to go home and watch Netflix again.
And fall might be the best time for it.
The nights finally start cooling down, hockey season gets underway, Halloween attractions open and sitting outside after sunset becomes considerably less likely to result in heatstroke.
Here are nine of our favorite ways to spend a night in Anaheim this fall.
1. Lock Yourselves in an Escape Room
We're going to start with the recommendation that comes with the world's least surprising conflict of interest.
Exit Game OC - Escape Room is our escape room here in Anaheim, and evenings are probably our favorite time to play.
Especially during spooky season.
Our 13th Basement game is a 60-minute horror-comedy adventure about a serial killer who became obsessed with escape rooms and decided to create one of his own.
Very entrepreneurial.
Your group starts separated and has to work together to reunite before exploring the rest of the multi-room game and figuring out how to escape.
There are creepy environments, fake blood, body parts, loud noises and a few jump scares, but the game is intentionally more funny than terrifying.
And there are no live actors inside the room.
So if your night-out group contains one person begging to visit a haunted house and another person threatening to stay in the car, 13th Basement makes for a pretty good compromise.
Games are completely private, meaning you'll only play with your own group, and Friday and Saturday bookings currently run as late as 11:30 p.m.
If horror isn't your thing at all, Meow! I'm a Cat is the considerably less murderous alternative.
You are cats.
You've accidentally been put up for adoption.
Honestly, the stakes are still pretty high.
Best for: Date nights, groups of friends, teens and anyone looking for something interactive instead of just dinner and a movie.
2. Eat Your Way Through the Packing House
Sometimes you don't need a complicated evening itinerary.
You just need food.
Preferably lots of different kinds of food.
Anaheim Packing District is one of the easiest Anaheim nighttime recommendations because you can show up without everyone agreeing on a restaurant first.
The historic Anaheim Packing House is a restored 1919 citrus packing facility that's now a two-story food hall filled with independent food and drink concepts. The surrounding Packing District includes Farmers Park, the Packard Building and the MAKE Building as well.
Friday and Saturday nights are particularly good because the Packing House stays open until 11 p.m., and live music, DJs and special events regularly appear on the calendar.
This is one of those places where we'd recommend wandering around first instead of immediately ordering from the first counter you see.
Everyone picks something different.
Find a table.
Steal bites off everybody else's plate.
Repeat with dessert.
That's a night.
Best for: Casual dates, groups that can't agree on food and visitors who want to experience something outside the Disneyland Resort area.
3. See a Concert at House of Blues
House of Blues Anaheim is inside Anaheim GardenWalk and has an extremely busy concert calendar.
And we mean busy.
The fall 2026 schedule includes everything from metal and hip-hop to tribute shows, touring bands, themed dance nights and smaller performances in The Parish. September alone includes artists like Chance the Rapper, The Midnight and Slaughter to Prevail, along with multiple themed events.
Which is admittedly an interesting group of people to put in one sentence.
The nice thing about House of Blues is that you don't necessarily need to build the entire evening around it.
GardenWalk has restaurants and other entertainment, Disneyland is nearby, and Eulogy Collective is literally in the same shopping center if your dream evening involves both live music and being screamed at.
No judgment.
Best for: Music fans, couples and visitors looking for something to do near Disneyland after dark.
4. Catch a Ducks Game or Concert at Honda Center
Fall also means hockey season is back.
Honda Center has a packed fall calendar in 2026, with Anaheim Ducks games alongside major touring concerts.
The Ducks' regular-season home opener is October 4 against the Florida Panthers, followed by home games against teams including Edmonton, Calgary, Boston, Vancouver and Buffalo during October.
And if hockey isn't your thing, the concert calendar is all over the place in the best possible way.
October has Thomas Rhett, Breaking Benjamin, Chayanne, SOMBR, Los Tigres del Norte, Bryson Tiller and more.
A Ducks game is also one of those activities that's fun even if nobody in your group is particularly knowledgeable about hockey.
It's fast.
It's loud.
There is food.
Occasionally somebody gets slammed into a wall.
You'll figure it out.
Best for: Sports fans, concert fans and groups looking for a full evening event.
5. Watch the Disneyland Fireworks From a Rooftop
Here's a good one if you want some Disney atmosphere without actually being inside Disneyland.
The FIFTH Rooftop Restaurant & Bar sits on top of the Grand Legacy At The Park hotel directly across from the Disneyland Resort.
The rooftop opens at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday and offers dinner, drinks and views overlooking the Resort District. On nights when Disneyland is running fireworks, the rooftop has a direct view of the show. Fridays and Saturdays also currently have a DJ starting at 8 p.m.
Fireworks are always subject to Disney's schedule and weather conditions, so check before building your entire night around them.
Southern California wind has ruined many carefully crafted plans.
Still, this can make for a really fun Anaheim date night:
Dinner.
Drinks.
Sunset.
Disneyland fireworks in the distance.
And nobody made you wait 70 minutes for Peter Pan.
Best for: Date nights, Disneyland-area visitors and anyone who enjoys fireworks considerably more when there's a chair involved.
6. Let Eulogy Scare You
Since this article is going live right as spooky season is hitting full speed, we obviously can't leave this one out.
Eulogy Collective Haunted House is located inside Anaheim GardenWalk and operates a live-actor haunted attraction right in the Disneyland Resort area.
Their new Shades of Hell experience opened September 11 for the 2026 Halloween season and uses live performers, elaborate sets, darkness, sound and close-up scares.
We've talked about Eulogy quite a bit on the blog this month because the people behind it are friends of ours.
But we also just legitimately like the attraction.
Independent haunted houses have a totally different energy from giant theme-park Halloween events, and having one right here in Anaheim is pretty cool.
And here's our extremely scientific nighttime scare scale:
13th Basement: “AH! ...okay, that was funny.”
Eulogy: “AHHHHH.”
The 17th Door: “I have made an error.”
Different evenings for different people.
Eulogy currently runs into the evening on operating nights, with Friday and Saturday hours extending to 11 p.m.
Best for: Horror fans and anyone who wants spooky season to actually be spooky.
7. Race Go-Karts at Night
Maybe your group isn't interested in cocktails, concerts or haunted houses.
Fine.
Let's drive irresponsibly fast in a completely controlled environment instead.
K1 Speed Anaheim offers indoor electric go-kart racing, which makes it an especially easy nighttime activity because weather doesn't matter.
Friday and Saturday hours currently run until midnight, and the Anaheim location also has an arcade and lounge area for time between races.
Their adult karts are fast enough that this does not feel like slowly driving an amusement-park car around while pretending you're racing.
Lap times are recorded too.
Which means the winner gets proof.
And the loser gets several extremely reasonable explanations about why their kart was obviously slower than everyone else's.
We've all been there.
If you're bringing kids, check the height requirements and late-night junior racing rules before heading over.
Best for: Competitive friends, dates, teens and families with older kids.
8. Learn to Line Dance at THE RANCH
This is one of those Anaheim nighttime activities that people visiting town don't always realize is here.
THE RANCH Saloon is a full country-music dance venue with live bands, DJs, line dancing and two-step.
Thursday nights are currently Line Dance Thursdays, while Fridays and Saturdays feature live music. Doors generally open at 5:30 p.m., and dance lessons happen early enough that beginners aren't simply thrown onto the floor and told to figure it out.
In other words:
You don't actually need to know how to line dance before arriving.
Which is important because some of us need considerably more assistance than others when our feet are expected to do two different things.
The Saloon does have a dress code and specific dance-floor rules, so check those before showing up in flip-flops and discovering you've made a tactical error.
This could be a particularly fun date night if you've fallen into the “so... dinner again?” rut.
Go learn something together.
Possibly embarrass yourselves.
That's bonding.
Best for: Adult date nights, country music fans and groups that actually want to do something instead of sitting around.
9. End the Night Inside a Shipwreck
We're finishing with possibly the most immersive place on this list that isn't technically an attraction.
Strong Water Anaheim is a nautical-themed restaurant and tiki bar in Downtown Anaheim designed to feel like you're inside a wrecked ship.
Not “there's a decorative anchor on the wall.”
An actual heavily themed environment.
Strong Water is primarily known for its cocktail program, but the atmosphere is the reason we're putting it on a things to do list rather than simply a restaurant list.
Indoor seating is reservation-based and restricted to guests 21 and older. Current evening hours run as late as midnight Thursday through Saturday.
It's also only about a seven-minute walk from the Anaheim Packing House, which means you can very easily combine the two into one Downtown Anaheim evening.
And if you're not drinking, an immersive environment is still an immersive environment.
We're escape-room people.
We respect unnecessary amounts of theming.
Best for: Adults, date nights, tiki fans and anybody who judges a restaurant partly by how convincing its fake shipwreck is.
Anaheim Gets Better After Dark
Disneyland might be the reason millions of people come to Anaheim, but it doesn't have to be the only thing you do once you're here.
Especially at night.
You can solve an escape room.
Watch hockey.
Race go-karts.
Catch a concert.
Get scared in a haunted house.
Learn to line dance.
Watch Disneyland's fireworks from a rooftop.
Or spend the evening eating your way around Downtown Anaheim.
And because most of these are completely different experiences, you can actually build a pretty great Anaheim night by combining two of them.
Dinner at the Packing House followed by an escape room.
House of Blues followed by Eulogy.
A Ducks game followed by... going home because you've already spent enough money.
We understand.
If you're looking for an interactive night out with friends, family or a date, come see us at Exit Game OC and take on 13th Basement.
It's creepy.
It's ridiculous.
You've got 60 minutes to escape.
And unlike most nights out, staring at your phone for an hour probably isn't going to help.
